You will receive a 1 oz packet of Dried Jamaican Cherry/Strawberry Tree Leaves, that were hand picked fresh and naturally air-dried from our beautiful Jamaican Cherry tree growing in sunny Florida. Home grown all naturally using regenerative methods with zero chemicals or pesticides and a whole lot of love. I harvest, air dry, and package the leaves in small batches so you are receiving them as fresh as possible. These leaves are delicate when dry and are in loose-leaf form, as whole as possible. Muntingia Calabura is commonly known as the Jamaican Cherry Tree, Strawberry Tree or Cotton Candy Fruit Tree as the flowers resemble strawberry flowers and the fruit resembles little red cherries that taste like cotton candy. Yum! It is also known by some as the Panama berry, Singapore cherry, Jamfruit, Bird cherry & Calabur tree. The leaves, bark, flowers, and fruit are each usable. I love growing the Jamaican Cherry tree in the garden as its branches create a shady habitat for the wildlife and it is really loved by the pollinators when in bloom. Of course I love it for the delicious fruits and leaf tea too. The leaves are very nice enjoyed brewed as a tea or powdered and add to smoothies etc. When brewed for tea I find it to taste pretty close to a traditional tea. Please do your own research before consuming. To Brew a Cup of Jamaican Cherry Leaf Tea Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat & add leaves. Add 3-4 Jamaican Cherry Leaves per cup. Steep for 20+mins. Strain & Enjoy! You can also brew larger amounts of tea and store it in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Storage To keep your leaves fresh, store them in the re-sealable bag and keep them in cool and dry place such as your pantry or kitchen cabinet.
